Cardiovascular Health

The heart of the matter is, CVD and its risk factors are largely preventable.

Still, 9 out of every 10 Canadians have at least one risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Research and awareness have come a long way, but the need to address cardiovascular risk factors through nutritional interventions has not gone away.

Specific areas of study are not limited to cardiovascular diseases (CVD) but also include risk factors and cardiometabolic markers such as diabetes/insulin resistance, high blood pressure, elevated triglycerides, high serum HDL cholesterol, and obesity. Physical inactivity is also a risk factor.

Our Location is Extraordinary

We have access to a unique study population in Winnipeg and its surrounding area, with  a large incidence of heart disease, obesity, and high blood pressure, making SNI Clinical Research ideally suited to metabolism research in Central Canada.
