She is a recognized subject matter expert in Canadian and U.S. regulatory frameworks, specializing in developing efficient market authorization pathways and ensuring clinical data integrity through evidence-based, compliant practices.
Her scientific background includes extensive research in immunology, bacterial genetics, probiotics, foodborne pathogens, and non-antibiotic alternatives that contribute to global efforts in combating antimicrobial resistance. Maira holds a Master of Science in Molecular Microbiology, a Ph.D. in Foodborne Zoonoses from the University of Guelph, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in antibiotic resistance at McMaster University.
